RJ WORLD SPRING FAIR 2007

For the first time ever, Ryugaku Journal combined forces with
AEON Corporation at the Tokyo venue site on May 13th.
AEON has an extensive nationwide network of ESL schools with a
reputation for quality education. Two floors of a new office
building near Tokyo station were utilized. Advertised as,
English and Study Abroad Expo 2007, the Tokyo site attracted
1,325 visitors. The three other venues--Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka-
were also very popular. This fair was a great success; a record
of 2,225 visitors showed up! It is quite a marked improvement
over last year's number of 1,235. Furthermore, the number of
prospective students choosing to apply to a school at each
venue site, totaled about 210. Feedback from both school
representatives and visitors indicated that this was one
of the best fairs ever.
The Spring World Fair focused on short-term courses, like those
offered in Summer Holiday Programs. Results of a questionnaire
showed that about 41% wanted to study English overseas, 12% were
interested in Working Holiday, and 13% were seriously considering
an undergraduate program. About 50 schools from 6 different
countries participated. All representatives were kept busy
answering inquiries the duration of the fair.

WORLD "STUDY ABROAD" FAIRS 2004

Ryugaku
Journal opened its doors to its annual World Fair on May 9, 2004
(Sun) in Tokyo. Many prospective students rushed in when the Fair
opened at 10:30am., staying for seminars and consultations. The
Fair closed reluctantly at 5:00pm.
About 540 people came to the Tokyo venue. The reasons for attending
the Fair were varied. One visitor said, "I decided on the school
I wanted to attend, so I came to this Fair to learn more from
the representative." Another person remarked,
"I knew there would be many schools and I came to learn a little
about each one."
School representatives were so busy answering questions, there
was no time to take a break, even for those booths having more
than one spokesperson. Translators moved from booth to booth,
helping when needed. Yet many participants felt confident enough
to consult in English. As one visitor commented, "I did not have
confidence (to talk in English), but I was able to comprehend
what was said and my English was understood. I felt it went well."
Perhaps most of the Fair participants felt the same way.
Last summer, many people decided to cancel their study abroad
trip because of the global SARS scare. This year there was a considerable
increase in consultations for study abroad summer programs. Ryugaku
Journal expects this to be a much more prosperous holiday season
for its partners.
Prospective students also had the option to attend any of the
four seminars. The first seminar, "Finding Your Study Abroad Style,"
was filled to capacity. Topics included general information about
studying overseas, details about language and vocational schools,
particulars on internship programs and working holidays and much
more. One participant commented,
"I only thought about learning English, but it seems there is
so much more one can do and learn."
Many participants and school representatives agree, this year's
World Fair Tokyo venue was the best ever! More than one person
remarked, "I found the Fair to be well organized and it is the
best one I have ever attended." Good attendance and reviews are
also expected from other RJ World Fair venues in Osaka, Nagoya,
Fukuoka and Sendai.

Establishment of a New Company and Continuation
of Business Announcement

I send you warm greetings from Japan and express my sincere gratitude
for your continued cooperation and support.
I take this opportunity to inform you that in order to provide
improved service to prospective overseas students, ICS Inc. has
joined capital force with the leading English Schools network,
AEON, and will operate under the new name of Ryugaku Journal as
of 31 October 2003.
The new company name "Ryugaku Journal" was decided upon
because it is already widely well known, particularly among prospective
students, as the leading publication on study abroad information
that our company publishes, and we believe that it can achieve
even greater wide-scope recognition.
(Note: word "Ryugaku" in "Ryugaku Journal"
literally means "Study Abroad".)
Furthermore, with investment from the AEON Group who operates
English Schools all over Japan, we plan to expand our study abroad
programs well beyond the more common English training to those
that realize greater overseas lifestyle experience and skill enhancement.
In addition to expressing my deepest appreciation for your sincere
support over many years, I look forward to your continued ongoing
support as we enter this new phase under a different name.
Thank you
